Well we found ways to work around some of the previous dilemas

I eliminated the classic ledge between the lower & upper side panels. In it's place I fitted a 3/4"by 2" "stringer" between the upper and lower panels on the inside and fitted a 1/2" X 2 2/2" (average) trim piece (on the outside) from the rear main cabin bulkhead to the forward cuddy cabin bulkhead. I will treat these bracing pieces with 10 oz glass to create the necessary longitudinal strength. If I have it figured it out correctly this will be at least as strong as what Renn calls for in the book's default design.
