Today was a big day. Mounting the transom seemed like a big deal to me. Once it was done and set up there was no simple to fix to any mistakes.

After rounding the edges of the corner braces I set the tranom on the shelves / gunnels. Placed the corner braces and adjusted, measured, readjusted, remeasured over and over until I felt like it was as good as I could get it. I ended up using folded up newspaper as a means of bringing some of the weight of the transom off the shelves so there would be

I mixed up a small batch of epoxy and painted all the areas that would be connecting. Then mixed a thick batch of epoxy, wood flour and cabosil and really filled all the joints and surfaces as best I could.

This took quite a bit of scraping of the squeeze out and forcing that back into the any cracks, nooks and crannies.

I then drove a couple screws in from the back of the transom into the shelf ends to keep everything in place.
